Our operating system is designed to keep AI assistants out of the workflow, so students have to read, think, write, and solve themselves.
AI, social media, news, and entertainment are blocked so the laptop opens into study mode, not distraction mode.
A firewall is built into our operating system that only allows your child to access a curated list of study focused websites.
The AI induced crisis
Students now use AI to write papers, solve math problems, summarize books, and more. Your children will forget how to think if they are not doing the work for themselves.

What happens next
The long-term research is still catching up, but the early studies are already warning parents: AI can help a student turn in an answer while making them less prepared to work, think, and solve without it.
Bastani et al., PNAS, 2025
In a field experiment with nearly 1,000 high-school math students, regular GPT-4-style access improved practice scores by 48%, then students scored 17% worse when they had to take the test without AI.
Education and Information Technologies, 2025
A 2025 study of 326 university students found academic generative AI use was tied to lower academic self-efficacy, lower academic performance, and higher learned helplessness.
Microsoft Research / CHI, 2025
A Microsoft and Carnegie Mellon study found that when people trusted generative AI more, they reported less critical thinking effort on AI-assisted tasks.
What it does
The product is intentionally narrow: students get access to useful study resources, while the common paths to distraction and automated homework are designed out.
The approved list
AI-Free PC uses an approved whitelist of websites. If a website is not on that list, our built-in firewall blocks it. The examples shown here are some of the approved websites students can access for research, writing, grammar, and study.

FAQ
AI-Free PC is designed to block AI tools and homework generators, keeping the device focused on student work instead of automated answers.
It is built around a curated list of study websites. The goal is not open browsing; it is focused access to schoolwork and homework resources.
Because homework is practice. When AI writes the paragraph, solves the worksheet, or summarizes the chapter, your child can finish the assignment without building the skill.
Email support@aifreepc.com to request that a site be added to the approved list. We review requests and add sites that fit the study-focused purpose of AI-Free PC.
